Well, well, well it's the Ryder Cup.  And guess what?  It's suspended because of rain.

It's raining here too, in fact I bet it's raining everywhere in the whole world today.

Joking apart, the chance to take my boy out in heavy rain throughout his life has proved comical on more than one occasion.  For instance our last holiday in the north of England was blighted by rain: we walked round a large resevoir - properly kitted out in full waterproofs and boots.  Getting them on him was a laugh.  By the time he was ready to walk it had taken me so long to dress him we were both soaked to the skin.  Through the forest the noises, and rain falling from the leaves, gave it a very mysterious aura.  How we laughed as we slid and slithered about Andrew clinging to me like a leech.  On our return after several miles, and when the car came into sight, he began to walk faster and faster, something I'd not seen him do before.  Relief I suppose.  On arrival at the car, I sat him in the boot, it was an estate car, and tugged on his boots.  Pulling hard because they were taking time to remove, I failed to see one of them suddenly come off his feet too quickly and I fell base over apex into a muddy puddle.  We laughed all the way home, Andrew giggling as he does at someone's slip or fall believing it to be a slapstick comedy specially for him.

Ah well needs must, I have to go out in the rain, but pray I don't slip up.

Have a good weekend.

Regards

Lawrence.
